Councillor Alleyn Wilson

Chair

Alleyn has lived in the New Forest for about 15 years having moved here from the Peak District in Derbyshire where she and her family ran a small beef farm. This was in addition to working full time as a Senior Manager in both the NHS and the Local Authority.  She gained a degree in Politics and History at Manchester University, is married and has 3 grown up children, two of whom live locally, and also a grandson who attends Poulner Junior School. She is a passionate gardener and also a keen ukulele player. Alleyn says her work with the Parish Council aims “to maintain the peace and beauty of the Forest, whilst making it a good place in which to live , work and visit “

Councillor Roly Errington
Vice Chairman

Freelance cameraman and lighting designer.

Born and lived in parish for many years. Parish councillor since 2006. Interested in engineering of all kinds, the New Forest and its wildlife.

Councillor Lindsay Burtenshaw

Chartered Surveyor. Practised estate management in Sussex after graduating from Reading University in 1975. Moved to Hampshire in 1998 as resident land agent on Somerley Estate. Joined the Parish Council in 2008.

Now a freelance land consultant. Interested in all aspects of rural life.

Councillor Richard Loader

Has lived in Furzehill all his life.

Is particularly concerned with small business in the Parish and the welfare of the Commons and wildlife.

Councillor Gordon Taylor

Currently a Vice President Marketing for a Medical Device company, having worked in Healthcare Marketing & General Management in many countries around the world for almost 20 years. Focuses on professional development and helping small businesses, with a Professional Certificate in Coaching at Henley Business School. Also, Chair of Trustees for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society.

Married to Fiona, a human and animal physiotherapist, with 3 teenage children, a horse, 2 dogs and 3 cats.

Is particularly interested in the sustainability of the New Forest; the balance of maintaining the natural environment with thriving local small businesses and a strong community.

Councillor Emma Blake

Has lived in the New Forest for ten years, moving to the area from Oxford where she worked at the University’s Faculty of Classics as Events and Schools Outreach Coordinator.

Passionate about the conservation of the Forest and the protection of its animals and way of life, she first joined the Parish Council in 2019, but when the Pandemic hit, she took a sabbatical to concentrate on her work at Bournemouth Airport where she is Publications Officer and Document Controller for a cargo company bringing in PPE and Medical supplies for the NHS. She re-joined the Parish Council in September 2021.
